The association’s second general assembly was held on 4 July, which was an auspicious date on which to welcome the American Chapman Ducote as a new board member. Chapman became our first American member back in March 2014 with his 25-metre Feadship La Vie Vite, launched in 1952 as Anahita V. He is a professional racing car driver turned serial entrepreneur with businesses such as Merchant Services LTD and Delta Powerboats US.
Chapman is a vocal fan of what he describes as “the pedigree and quality that Feadship offers”. He and his wife, the author Kristin Ducote, find great inspiration out on the oceans and love the history that comes with owning a Feadship.
As the Ducotes were preparing for the refit of La Vie Vite, they spread the word on the Feadship Heritage Fleet in various articles in the yachting press, including Boat International and Super Yacht Owner. Chapman and Kristin also write a regular column for Showboats magazine called ‘The Way I Sea It’ and feel that FHF events in America will bring well-deserved attention to the Feadship community.
